| Asia: In this lesson, you'll learn how to use a sentence pattern for asking about a choice. |
| PATTERN |
| Asia: For example, "Which ice cream flavor are you getting?" |
| Daniele: Quale gusto di gelato prendi? |
| Daniele: [slow] Quale gusto di gelato prendi? |
| Asia: The pattern for asking about a choice has 3 elements. First, an interrogative to ask about people or objects, "which." |
| Daniele: Quale. |
| Asia: Second, a noun phrase, which is also the object. In this case, that’s "ice cream flavor." |
| Daniele: gusto di gelato. |
| Asia: Third, a verb, in this case "to get." It’s conjugated in the second person singular, as the subject is “you.” |
| Daniele: prendi. |
| Asia: Altogether, we have, "Which ice cream flavor are you getting?" |
| Daniele: Quale gusto di gelato prendi? [slow] Quale gusto di gelato prendi? [normal] Quale gusto di gelato prendi? |
| Asia: Start with the interrogative “which” |
| Daniele: quale |
| Asia: followed by a noun or a noun phrase and a verb conjugated in the present tense. The verb must be conjugated in agreement with the subject which, in Italian is usually omitted. |
| Daniele: Quale gusto di gelato prendi? |
| Asia: So remember, to ask about a choice, start with the word "which" |
| Daniele: quale |
| Asia: followed by a noun and a present tense verb. The order of these may vary. |
| Asia: Here's another example meaning, "Which car do you have?" First, an interrogative to ask about people or objects, "which." |
| Daniele: Quale. |
| Asia: Second, a noun, which is also the object. In this case, it’s "car." |
| Daniele: macchina. |
| Asia: Third, a verb, in this case "to have," conjugated in the second person singular. |
| Daniele: hai. |
| Asia: Altogether we have... |

| Asia: How do you say - "Which pizza do you prefer?" To give you a hint, "you prefer" is... |
| Daniele: preferisci. [slow] preferisci. [normal] preferisci. |
| Asia: "Which pizza do you prefer?" |
| [pause] |
| Daniele: Quale pizza preferisci? [slow] Quale pizza preferisci? [normal] Quale pizza preferisci? |

your sentence is correct, although when I say "quadro" I think of a "painting". "Picture" is usually translated as "foto" or "immagine".
