Downloading ItalianPod101.com’s “Survival phrases” was one of the smartest things I did to prep for Italy. I decided to go just 5 weeks before the plane took off, so I didn’t have time for much, but I listened to the lessons while I walked my dog, and by the time I got to Italy I was confident enough to ask some questions, and understand what was being said around me. The very first day I was in a shop in Montepulciano and asked the proprietor, “Quanto questo?” She answered in Italian, and I understood her! And, when I left a shopping bag in the same store, I returned and was able to ask, “Mia borsa?” because of the lesson on shopping. I didn’t think I’d ever use the lesson on “May I take your picture?” but I did when I saw a darling child and asked his mama if it was okay. And, I used my “Mi dispiace!” when I fell on a guy in the hot spring. I was certainly glad I knew how to say that! So many times I heard Cinzia in my head: “You’ll be surprised how far a little Italian will go!” I certainly was, and I’ve been learning more ever since. I’d recommend the audio lessons to anyone.

I like Italianpod because in the lessons they have a skit that tells a story and it is very interesting; I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next lesson. I also really enjoy the video series Italiano in tre minuti. I would love to see more of those! I also find the flashcards very helpful.

ItalianPod101.com has become a wonderful addition into my daily routine. I love having a new vocabulary word, sample uses โ and audio so I can practice my pronunciation every day. Slowly but surely I’m expanding my vocabulary. For a language that makes my heart soar, this is exactly what I need to start my day with a smile!
Thanks, ItalianPod101.com!!

My name is TiffanyAnn Rose-Smith. I am 52 years young. I am using ItalianPod101 to learn Italian. I am pretty much a beginner, with some exposure to Italy, and to its beautiful Mother Tongue. I enjoy very much the ease and accessibility of this program. I love the audio and visual aids, and the daily word and daily sentence features. These make it quite simple and fun to incorporate my language study into my daily life seamlessly, painlessly, and effortlessly! I know that I still have a long way to go, but I genuinely feel that I am picking up the Italian language, and I fully believe that; by the grace of God and with the help of this amazing program; I will soon be fluent in Italian, as well as English, and ready to move on to study yet another language or two more! Thank you, Lord, and thank you, Italian Pod101! TiffanyAnn Rose-Smith RSM, CA USA

ItalianPod101 has taught me to memorize 2 categories of words extremely fast! I stopped using the app due to being a full time student (nothing Italian related) and months later I still remember all the words! I regret not renewing a subscription to receive more words because this can be done with my other studies because it’s not time consuming studying, it a fun learning experience. It is effective with the flash cards and games you play that it’s not like I’m learning, its a fun app that I want to play often!

I really like the Advanced Video Culture Classes with Eleanor. She speaks very clearly and at a pace that’s definitely a challenge for me but not too fast. I also enjoy learning about the many Italian holidays–very interesting.

Hi ItalianPod101, my name’s Dave and I’ve been studying with ItalianPod101 for about 2 weeks now. OH MIO DIO! it’s sooo good, it teaches grammar, vocabulary and idioms that are kinda similar to english! I downloaded 5 of the upper intermediate levels on my first day and started listening to them on my lunch break, finished all of them and forgot to eat my sandwich! They are easy to listen to and they go though it again slowly and then with a translation, which is really helpful in understanding it all! I’ve been addicted to them since day one and I come back every night to download the next set of podcasts for me to listen to tomorrow! I feel my fluency is improving and whatever accent I used to have my girlfriend, (she’s italian, one of the reasons why i started to learn) says is practically gone!๐
I would like to thank Marco and Consuelo (not sure if spelt right!) for your help in all of this! It’s been fantastic listening to you two, and please don’t stop making lessons! Grazie mila!

Ciao tutti!
I just started ItalianPod101 because I am planning a trip in 13 months. In only a few days, I am already comfortable in listening and pronunciating (I have to practice making up my own sentences but I’m sure ItalianPod101 will get me there in no time!) Because I live really close to the Italian community in Montreal, I may go and practice before my trip.
Thanks, you guys make it so easy for us!!!

Italianpod101.com has helped me learn Italian quickly. I won’t be able to have in depth conversations, (too little time/study), but I will be able to communicate with those around me while I’m in Italy.

So, I just started studying Italian a few months ago, and I’m taking a class once a week… but I’m so happy I found ItalianPod101.com because I listen to the podcasts constantly in between my classes and it helps so much! Either it reinforces things I learned from the book, or sometimes I get introduced to an idea or grammar item from the podcast first and then it’s easier to understand in class because I’ve already been exposed to it… either way it’s so helpful, plus all the example sentences are really good. Right now I’m mostly listening to Lower Intermediate and it’s just the perfect level for me. Thank you so much!!

I just recently discovered the wonderful world of podcasts and this podcast was one of the first of many that I chose to download. I really enjoy this podcast because I am able to understand and learn formal and informal Italian. My father’s side of the family is from Naples and I wouldn’t want to have to speak only formal italian the next time i visit. Great job you two!!

After our first trip to Italy in 2008, my husband and I fell in love with Italian language and culture and began to take formal classes. The once a week practice just wasn’t enough for us to get quality language immersion that is needed if one is going to truly learn a new language. ItalianPod101 has filled a need for both of us. We can listen, speak, practice grammar, learn new words, work at our own pace (he is advanced intermediate, I’m still in the beginner stage)and learn about Italy and its beautiful country and culture. We love the word of the day and the culture lessons that we have gotten are priceless. Thank you ItalianPod101

This is a great series! I love the hosts - they seem like they are having fun, not stiff like other audio language programs I have listened too. I load the newbie and beginner series on my iPod and listen while I’m driving. I can’t speak Italian yet but hopefully soon.

Everyone else has hit it on the head - these hosts are great (very fun to listen too, they keep your attention because they are entertaining!). And since it is entertaining I find myself listening to each lesson more than once. I currently live in Florence, USA - but am going to Europe in one year, and at the top of my list is Florence, Italy. The audio blogs and beginner lessons are going to be my primary tool for preparation - thanks for making this podcast!

The hosts make learning entertaining, and they also pronounce words slowly, so you can understand it. All in all, great job!

A really great way to learn the basics of Italian from native speakers. They make it fun, but the format helps you learn. Definitely worth downloading.
